Cedar Point Sports Center Indoor Walking Track Delivers
INDOOR WALKING TRACK SEES THOUSANDS OF WALKERS SINCE THE FACILITY OPENED
(Sandusky, OH) March 9, 2020: The indoor walking track at Cedar Point Sports Center has been a hit with Erie County residents since the new sports complex opened in January.
The indoor walking track is open to the community and completely free for the public to use. Cedar Point Sports Center requires each guest who uses the track to complete a waiver during their first visit, and then check in at the front desk each subsequent visit. The three-lane, eighth-of-a-mile track, is made from a specialized, synthetic material poured in place in liquid form before hardening into the final product. The surface is suitable for both walking and jogging
“We are extremely pleased with the response that we have received from the community in both feedback and the number of people using the track each day,” said Wes Hall, General Manager for Cedar Point Sports Center. “We are excited about the future of the track’s use as we look for fun ways to encourage and incentivize community usage.”
The track, which is open during weekdays 10 am – 8 pm, has seen over 7,400 users since the facility opened on January 11; bringing the daily average to over 200 walkers and joggers. There are many in the community who use the track multiple times per week.
“The fact that the track is open, for free, to the community is amazing,” said Sandusky resident Mary Ellen Reeder who uses the track three days a week. “Not everyone wants to go to, or pay for, a gym to get their exercise; and this track help promotes community wellness. It’s nice, clean, close to home, and inside which is great during the winter months.”
